Everyone sees numbers as just that. To see the beauty of these seemingly simple characters, one must delve into the folds of mathematics. Mathematics is a subject which derives purely from logic. Its complications help reveal the elaborate progress of the human mind. Application of Maths is more than visible in the world around us such as trade, computers and even something as basic as counting.
Mathematics was developed by various civilisations such as the Babylonians and the Egyptians. Early Mathematics involved counting, measurement and basic arithmetic. Today, our world functions on the pillars of this versatile subject. Data is one of the many fields where Maths plays a fundamental role. Sorting of data and algorithms reveal Maths to be their heart and soul.

x is more than just a letter of the alphabet, it is a variable. English confines x to its lexicographical cage while Mathematics allows it to be anything. One can define x however they like and this definition is subjective. I might consider it to be a single digit while my computer might assume it to be a seven or maybe eight digit number. Maths is not just a subject, it is the language of logic, the art of structure and finally it is the feeling of freedom.
